This intercooler features a large 21x7x4 core with 33 charge rows! Most competitor intercoolers have between 24-25 charge rows. By having 33 charge rows the ETS intercooler claims 62 heat transfers vs the competitors’ 48 heat transfer sites, which results in a greater heat transfer area. This core is designed specifically for 2008-2021 Subaru STI; this is not an off-the-shelf core. Unlike the competing intercooler, the ETS TMIC require no modifications to the a/c line that runs behind the intercooler. The ETS intercooler also uses studs to mount the blow off valve instead of bolts, which means less likelihood of stripping out the holes if the fasteners are over-tightened. The ETS top-mount intercooler has been designed for maximum performance.
