This steering shaft joint goes in between the steering rack and steering column. This solid unit is an upgrade for the WRX cars that have a large (and squishy) rubber damper in the steering joint. This joint is a factory part on the 2008-2014 STI and gives the car a more precise steering feel. (Of course there is a small increase in steering vibration as well, but you knew that.) You can retrofit it to any 2008-2014 WRX for that more precise STI steering experience.
